Sponsorships are paid placements. They are not news coverage. Every paid placement on the site and in the newsletter is labeled Sponsored, and sponsor links are marked so a browser can tell they are paid.

A sponsor does not assign topics, edit entries, or stop an entry from being published. The sponsor bar is not shown on an entry whose risk type is in that sponsor’s exclusion list, so a sponsor is not placed next to coverage of its own product category.
