The California Privacy Protection Agency said on September 23, 2025 that the Office of Administrative Law had approved regulations covering automated decisionmaking technology, and that businesses using ADMT to make significant decisions must comply beginning January 1, 2027.

The Agency’s rulemaking page says the regulations were approved on September 22, 2025 and take effect January 1, 2026, with the later compliance timing for ADMT called out in the announcement.

This page does not restate filing dates that were not on those two Agency pages. Checked on October 17, 2026. This is general information, not legal advice.
